Small Community Wastewater Cluster Systems

This publication focuses on alternative methods of handling wastewater for small communities and small groups of homes. It examines pretreatment and soil absorption rather that conventional large-diameter gravity sewers with treatment/discharge systems. It discusses the various components of a cluster system, their advantages and disadvantages, and management needs to ensure their proper operation. The community and financial procedures necessary to plan, build, and maintain a cluster system in Indiana are also covered.
