This one-page publication entitled, "Vomitoxin in Feed Wheat for Hogs" discusses vomitoxin and how it has caused the 1996 wheat crop to be diverted from human food to animal feed. Vomitoxin causes feed refusal and poor weight gain in livestock as well as causing problems in horses and hogs. Recommendations by the Office of the Indiana State Chemist are given that warn hog farmers to be wary of substituting feed wheat.
