Advancing Swine Welfare with Environmental Enrichment

Environmental enrichment can play a key role in ensuring that pigs are experiencing positive welfare. In this publication, Purdue and other researchers discuss common pig behaviors and explain how different types of enrichments - which don't need to be expensive or complicated - can satisfy these behaviors and address physical, mental, and emotional needs of pigs. Additionally, the authors provide tips for the successful and safe implementation of environmental enrichments for pigs.
