Black and pale Swallow-wort are non-native perennial, herbaceous, twining vines. Not yet well established in Indiana, the vines are highly invasive and grow rapidly, quickly twining around, climbing and overwhelming neighboring plants and threatening native plant communities. This publication aids in identifying these swallow-worts and provides management recommendations focused on prevention of spread, early detection, and properly timed and targeted control measures.
