Description

This publication deals with interaction and dialogue with the public on pesticides and risk communication. Through the news media, the public is made aware of the risks involved with using pesticides and also the benefits of using pesticides. The public is left to judge for themselves whether or not the benefits outweigh the risks. Consumers are asked to make increasingly difficult risk decisions for themselves and their families, based on complex scientific and technical information. This publication outlines the history of commercial pesticide development and regulation and describes the educator's role in helping the consumer form and educated opinion.
